Children's writing bootcamp

The ACT Writers Centre held a Children's Writing Bootcamp at Gorman House in Canberra over the weekend. We had a great turnout of writers and terrific presenters for the workshops. I've come away with lots of ideas for improving my craft, working with publishers, and being productive. My focus was on my Bunny Overboard story, which will get yet another overhaul to incorporate the improvements I identified by talking to Davina Bell and Jane Godwin, and working through exercises with Susanne Gervay. The weekend finished with a session with Tania McCartney, talking about our brand, our craft, promotion and networking, and making a living as a writer and illustrator. a pirate doll and toy rabbit on the edge of a plank on the boat railing
